Broadband Provisioning

Provisioning Processes Implementation

In 2015 a document was produced stating that the key to Broadband Provisioning was Signatures.

Use this procedure in conjunction with documents : Broadband Provisioning - October 2016.

Note: This form does not cater for Outcomes 24 and 25 due to List Of Technology Messages outputing two variable - in both cases there is a loss of Broadband.

DACS

Ticket to : Comms

For Fibre Deals : The CLI ---- currently has DACs on the line, due to this we will have to place an ADSL order first so that the work can be done to remove the DACs, there may be a delay in the first order completing but it will be a minimum of 5 working days. Once the ADSL is live we can then place the Fibre order which will take a minimum of 10 working days subject to engineer availability. If the customer is happy to proceed with these lead times please return the ticket to BB Prov and we will go ahead and start the process and the customer will receive a fibre router which will be compatible with both the ADSL and the Fibre connection, this will be sent out 3 days before the ADSL order completes. Thanks.

Non-Fibre - Activate and ticket Comms - Please inform the cus that due to DACS being on the line there will be a 24 hour delay in the provisioning of the BB - Thank You

Implementation

Top

This document is proof that logic can be applied to the provisioning process and rules can be determined programatically.

However, to turn this into a production process would require radical change.

The implementation of this the Broadband Provisioning process should be a sequel server development.

Where the processing rules are held external to the program in SQL tables.

The tables required are : 1. Signatures 2. Outcomes 3. Instructions and their associated tables to create many to many relationships.

A single Audit transaction would be sufficient to display the instruction sets - this would be a simple SQL command to display all the instuctions associated with a single signature.

It is estimated to develop and implement such a procedure would take an experienced programmer less than 1 day

The effort then being with the provisioning team to transcribe the povisioning processes which have now been written.
